Since the book “Shakespeare our contemporary “ by the polish Jan Kott has been published , theatre people haven’t stopped asking if Shakespeare is still our contemporary. Some of them answered No some of them Yes and some said he is more contemporary with ones than with the others.
Theatre is an art of the moment so, normally, the performance is contemporary with the performers. İn each performance actors are influenced by every day life and also by the public. Audience are receving the information not only as an textual one but as an emotional one too, and this is influenced by their daily life. Shakespeare is contemporary with every person in public and with each actor . Very simple. Theatre is a mirror . Shakespeare said.

We will talk about power, Shakespeare talks about it too…Nothing changed in the history when is about power, maybe just the names of the “actors” and the “tools” they have been used to take it, and unfortunetly nothing can be changed in the Spiral of the History .

“When the history is repeating the tragedy becomes comedy.”
Oscar Wilde
